4-day boat trip to traditional Olympos village.
Early in the morning from the main harbor of the island, you will embark on the boat and start your journey.
Sailing north you will disembark at the harbor of Diafani. There, our bus will be waiting for you, to drive you to the jewel village of Karpathos; Olymbos. The view will leave you speechless.
A tour through the village will help you discover the secrets of this primeval community with the very old, small Christian orthodox churches and its numerous windmills, some of them are still used. You will wander in the paves, admire the unique design of the typical Karpathian houses and meet the local women who are still dressed in their traditional dresses.
You will meet craftsmen making the traditional leather boots and others who make musical instruments for feasts and festivals. You will also visit the cultural museum of Olympos to get a glimpse of the island’s cultural heritage.
At noon you can have a delicious meal at one of the small traditional taverns where you can see how the local dishes are prepared. Then our bus will drive you back to Diafani. At Diafani it’s worth visiting the Information Centre of the Protected Area of Karpathos where you will learn about the flora and fauna of the island and all the natural features. You will also be able to relax and swim in the sea that lies in front of you. In the early evening, you will board on the boat and sail back to the capital.
