On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the peaceful village of Othos will welcome a new cultural experience to Karpathos. Punente Fest invites residents and visitors to gather in Stes, in the courtyard of Agios Panteleimon, for an evening of live music, creative activities, and community under the new moon sky.
Beginning at 19:00, the event is free and open to everyone.
A Different Kind of Musical Experience
Inspired by the cool breeze of the west wind—known locally as the punente—the festival will introduce the island to musical soundscapes rarely experienced live in Karpathos.
The evening will focus on experimental, jazz, and ambient music, bringing together young, emerging artists whose creative journeys extend well beyond the island. With studies in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as well as international collaborations throughout the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Americas, the participating musicians will offer audiences a distinctive contemporary experience inspired by diverse artistic influences.
Punente Fest aims to present performances comparable in quality and creativity to those found on leading European stages while preserving the welcoming atmosphere and natural beauty of Karpathos.
